The Printing Process

Ink is pushed through a fine mesh screen onto the shirt, one print at a time. Lady Cotton does this by hand in their Paris studio, which gives a print that’s soft to the touch and holds up well wash after wash.

All Shibari Study apparel is screen-printed and hand-finished by Lady Cotton, a queer-led creative collective based in Paris. Founded by John McCarty and Maarten van der Horst, Lady Cotton is committed to intentional production, sustainable practices, and authentic collaboration with artists and communities. Every piece is printed by hand in their Paris studio, combining traditional screen and discharge printing techniques with contemporary design. CARE & STORAGE

Care: Machine wash 30°C inside-out. Avoid bleach. Tumble dry on low or air-dry for best results. Do not iron directly on print. The hand-printed finish improves with wear.
