The Printing Process
Discharge printing takes colour out of the fabric instead of adding ink on top, so the design becomes part of the shirt. It’s light, breathable, and softens a little with each wash.

MATERIAL

All Shibari Study apparel is screen-printed and hand-finished by Lady Cotton, a queer-led creative collective based in Paris. Founded by John McCarty and Maarten van der Horst, Lady Cotton is committed to intentional production, sustainable practices, and authentic collaboration with artists and communities. Every piece is printed by hand in their Paris studio, combining traditional screen and discharge printing techniques with contemporary design. CARE & STORAGE

Care: Machine wash 30°C inside-out (important for discharge prints). Air-dry or low tumble recommended. Avoid bleach. First wash in cool water brings out the full character of the print. The discharge finish becomes softer and richer with each wash.
